Rebranding Belgium’s biggest music festival
With 90.000 visitors a day, Rock Werchter is Belgium’s biggest music festival. A festival known for its world-class line-up with incredible headliners, raging rockers, mesmerizing singer-songwriters, engaging beats and upcoming talents. The four day festival transforms the small town of Werchter into a vibrant fest filled with an overload of music and positive vibes.
Initiated by a small group of music enthusiasts, the first edition of Rock Werchter took place in 1975 with around thousand visitors. Over the next 47 years the festival got bigger and gained immense popularity. A loyal community of multiple generations who visit every year contribute to a friendly and intimate festival atmosphere.
TIN created a new brand identity that is as familiar for the loyal returning visitors as it is exciting for the newcomers. Respecting Rock Werchter’s rich history and heritage, the new identity utilizes a similar stacked layout system and condensed typestyle from the early days, but implemented in a fresh and modern way.
The new brand identity introduces a new logo, a recognizable custom typeface and an energetic visual language that represents the incredible variety of music at Rock Werchter.
Typeface created in collaboration with Edgar Walthert, motion design in collaboration with Devon Moodley and photography by Rock Werchter.
